Jaguar Land Rover Extends Production Halt After Cyberattack

New Delhi – Jaguar Land Rover (JLR), owned by Tata, has extended its production stop until October 1 after a major cyberattack disrupted operations earlier this month.

The company said the extension allows time to plan a safe, phased restart while investigations continue. JLR is working with cybersecurity experts, the UK’s National Cyber Security Centre, and law enforcement to secure operations.

The September 2 attack has already forced repeated delays. JLR’s three UK factories, which normally make around 1,000 cars daily, remain paused. Tens of millions of pounds in losses are estimated, and many of the company’s 33,000 employees are staying home.

The disruption also affects the wider supply chain supporting about 104,000 jobs in Britain. JLR apologised for the ongoing impact and promised to provide updates as the investigation progresses.
