The Telangana High Court has allowed the Bathukamma festival to be celebrated near Charminar on Tuesday, September 23, but only under strict conditions.

The BJP had moved the court after police denied permission, citing security and crowd concerns. Justice N. V. Shravan Kumar granted approval with limits to ensure order.

As per the order, only 100 women—none with a criminal record—can take part, and no prominent personalities should be invited. The event will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. near the temple at Charminar.

The court also directed organizers not to sing political songs or make political statements. Police have been given authority to act if any rule is broken.

The decision came after it was noted that the same festival was held at the venue in October 2024 under similar restrictions without any issues.
