Surat, Sep 16 — The Surat City Police held a large blood donation camp on Tuesday to celebrate Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 75th birthday and honor the success of ‘Operation Sindoor’. Many police officers took part in the event, showing their support for the cause.

The camp was set up at the Surat Police Headquarters and was officially opened by Police Commissioner Anupam Singh Gehlot. Speaking at the event, he said, “We are celebrating the Prime Minister’s birthday in a meaningful way — by saving lives through blood donation. All the blood collected will be given to local blood banks. The drive will continue until 4 PM today.”

The event wasn’t just about marking the Prime Minister’s birthday. It was also a way for the police to show their dedication to serving the nation and helping those in need.

Assistant Commissioner of Police M.K. Rana, who also donated blood, said, “PM Modi has done a lot for the country. Donating blood is our small way of giving back. It’s something every citizen should consider — it saves lives.”

This event is part of a bigger nationwide campaign called Sewa Diwas, which is held every year on September 17 to celebrate the Prime Minister’s birthday. The BJP has also launched a two-week campaign called Sewa Pakhwada, running from September 17 to October 2, to mark the birth anniversaries of Mahatma Gandhi and former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri.

During this period, various public service activities are planned, including:

The first phase of Sewa Pakhwada begins with blood donation camps in over 1,000 districts. These efforts will continue in local communities and public places, showing the country’s united support for public service and national progress.
