The faster information is received on social media and also the faster lies are spread. A recent post is also going viral. Has the Union Finance Ministry taken a key decision? Has it provided bad news to central government employees and pensioners? Deferred Dear Allowance DA payments in the wake of Omicron? Has the Center issued orders in this regard? A post with a similar order on social media went viral.

PIB Fact Check responded to this. PIB Fact Check clarified that no such orders have been issued by the Ministry of Finance. Revealed that it was a fake post. Asked that no one believe this. PIB Fact Check also did a tweet to this effect. Explained that a fake order had been issued in the name of the Finance Ministry. This includes deferment of Dearness Allowance and Dearness Relief payments. This is completely untrue. Let no one believe this.

The Dearness Allowance is currently 31 per cent. In October 2021, the Ministry of Finance increased the Dearness Allowance for Central Government Employees. The increase is effective July 1, 2021. Official orders from the Finance Ministry state that the Dearness Allowance for Central Government Employees has been increased from 28 per cent to 31 per cent with effect from July 1, 2021. Prior to this, the Dearness Allowance was increased from 17 per cent to 28 per cent before July 2021.
