Major changes in basic education revealed by Union Minister Javadekar

Guwahati:Minister of State for Human Resource Development Prakash Javadekar said major changes would be made in school education.He addressed the Northeast State Level Committee on the topic 'Innovations and Best Practices in School Education' here on Saturday.There are mainly five reforms.


* Students are allowed to test twice for passing.The first is March and the second is held in June.It can be written twice the first time. Secondly, it is necessary to continue in the same classroom.


* Determination policy will take place within this month.The power to enforce it was given to the states.


* Public examinations are mandatory for the tenth class.


* The curriculum will change in NCERT books.Without any changes in the last 10 years,new items will be added. Teachers and parental opinions will receive this.


* Some standards are directed to each class on what students have learned.Every year it is reviewed.Teachers are given books with necessary instructions to reach the goals.
