On Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 75th birthday, Union Minister Piyush Goyal launched the “Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar” campaign in Mumbai’s Dahisar East on Wednesday. The initiative focuses on women’s health and empowerment.
The nationwide programme was virtually inaugurated by PM Modi from Dhar, Madhya Pradesh. He highlighted the importance of women’s well-being and encouraged women to take part in free health check-ups being held across the country.
At the Mumbai event, BJP MLA Manisha Chaudhary, BMC Commissioner Bhushan Gagrani, and other senior leaders joined a large gathering of women beneficiaries. Nutrition kits were distributed to pregnant women to support maternal health.
Speaking at the launch, Goyal extended birthday wishes to the Prime Minister, praising his decades of public service. He said Modi has always placed the nation above everything and continues to dedicate his life to India’s 140 crore people.
Goyal also shared that over 100 service initiatives are being organised across North Mumbai, covering healthcare, cleanliness drives, and awareness programmes. A new Standard Club is being introduced in schools and colleges to spread knowledge about quality and safety. Medical camps are also being set up in slum areas.
“As part of this campaign, pregnant women will receive special nutrition kits that support their health during pregnancy and after childbirth,” Goyal said. He also highlighted ongoing efforts to provide sanitary pads in municipal schools, a project now expanding across Mumbai.
MLA Manisha Chaudhary added that health camps are being organised nationwide to mark the Prime Minister’s birthday. “Each pregnant woman is being given a 20 kg maternity kit, with special attention to those suffering from malnutrition. This is the goal of the Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar campaign,” she said.
Through these initiatives, the programme aims to improve women’s health, promote hygiene, and ensure families are stronger and healthier.
