Businessman hides bundles of cash in the Water Tank.. Caught by IT officers

Income tax officials seized the stained notes, dried and ironed them with hair dryers. Video of the incident in Damo district of Madhya Pradesh has gone viral on social media. Income tax officials conducted a search of the house of a businessman named Shankar Roy after receiving information about unaccounted money. They were shocked to find bundles of notes worth Rs 1 crore hidden in the water tank.

A total of Rs 8 crore cash and jewelry worth Rs 5 crore were seized from Shankar Roy during the raids. Jabalpur IT Joint Commissioner Munmun Sharma, who led the raids, said the searches lasted from 5 am to about 39 hours on Thursday.

Authorities say the Roy family runs more than three dozen buses in the name of employees. They announced a reward of Rs 10,000 for giving more information about their assets. Shankar Roy is the chairman of the Damo Municipal Corporation on behalf of the Congress party. His brother Kamal Roy is currently in the BJP.
