Telangana, Andhra Pradesh CMs condole death of Asha Bhosle

Hyderabad, April 12 (IANS) Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday condoled the demise of the legendary playback singer Asha Bhosle.


Chief Minister Revanth Reddy expressed deep anguish over the passing away of the National Award-winning artiste and Padma Vibhushan awardee.


Asha Bhosle breathed her last at Mumbai's Breach Candy Hospital on Sunday. She was 92-years-old.


The singer was admitted on Saturday evening, due to exhaustion and a chest infection.


Asha Bhosle's extraordinary contribution to Indian music, marked by unmatched versatility and excellence across decades and languages, leaves behind an enduring legacy that will continue to inspire generations.


Her demise is a significant loss to the nation's cultural and artistic fraternity, the Telangana Chief Minister said in his message.


Chief Minister Revanth Reddy conveyed his sincere sympathies to the bereaved family members, admirers and the global music community, and prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul.


Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu posted on social media platform X that he was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of veteran singer Asha Bhosle.


"A legendary and versatile Indian vocalist, she was the most recorded artist in music history. Her extraordinary contributions to the music industry spanned more than seven decades, enriching generations with timeless melodies. A recipient of the Padma Vibhushan, her legacy will remain an integral part of India's musical heritage and will continue to resonate through the ages. Heartfelt condolences to her family, friends, and admirers across the world," Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu said.


Union Minister for Coal and Mines, G. Kishan Reddy, also posted on social media that he is deeply saddened by the passing of Asha Bhosle, one of India's most iconic and versatile voices.


"Her extraordinary contribution to Indian music spans decades, transcending generations and linguistic boundaries. Through her evergreen songs, she brought joy, emotion, and cultural richness to millions across the nation and the world. My heartfelt condolences to her family, friends, and well-wishers," he wrote.
