Owaisi Slams Govt for Halting Action Against Pakistan After Pahalgam Attack

AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi said on Tuesday that he is not interested in answering “what if” questions about becoming Prime Minister, stressing that he focuses on reality and his current role.

Speaking to reporters in Pune, Owaisi said India had a chance to give a strong reply to Pakistan after the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, in which 26 people, mostly tourists, were killed. He claimed the government stopped military action even though the nation was ready to respond.

Referring to drones from Pakistan flying over India’s western borders, he said such opportunities to act decisively “do not come again” but were lost.

The Centre has officially maintained that Operation Sindoor, launched after the attack, was only paused, not ended, following strikes on terrorist hideouts and airports in Pakistan.

Owaisi also criticised the government for its approach toward Pakistan during the Asia Cup cricket tournament. He added that pluralism is India’s strength and announced that AIMIM will contest upcoming civic elections in Maharashtra.
