Leopard injures 7-yr-old boy in UP

Amroha, Aug 1 (IANS) A leopard critically injured a seven-year-old boy in Uttar Pradesh's Amroha district and tried to drag him into the forest.

The child's screams alerted villagers from nearby areas and they rushed to save him.

Hearing the commotion, the leopard left the boy and escaped into the forest.

The boy has suffered deep wounds in the neck and head. He has been admitted to a private hospital where his condition is said to be stable.

The incident took place in Jujhaila village under Hasanpur police station area.

Forest official Vinod Kumar, said: "We have set up cages to trap the leopard. Villagers living in the area have been alerted as well."
