Tragedy in Vijayanagar district.. Poison Gas leak

A serious tragedy has taken place in Vijayanagar district. An accident at a chemical factory in Pydibimavaram, Parvathipuram town has left locals in shock. A person died due to the poison gas leak and eight others were seriously injured. Anxious to find out what had happened to them, the industry rushed to the hospital at around 5.40pm on Friday and wanted to keep the matter a secret. But the incident came to light.

Chlorine poisoning was reported in the penta prozel sodium block in the local excise industry. Bogi Prasada Rao (45), who was on duty at the time, along with eight others fell ill. They were rushed to a private hospital in Vijayanagar.

Prasadarao died while receiving treatment there. DSP Mahendra, JR Puram CI Swamy Naidu and SI Rajesh inspected the spot. The Police went to the hospital and consulted the victims. An Officer said the case is being registered and investigated.
