Planning to go to your native places this Festival ? Know this before hand

Sankranti festival is coming up in another week. Millions of people go to their native places on this occasion. Fastag at toll plazas is mandatory for those traveling in their own vehicles. Most motorists do not even check if there is a balance in the Fastag app. Upon arrival at the toll plaza, they realize that the barrier has not been raised and that Fastag has been blacklisted. They then have to pay the additional toll.

Others are recharging as they approach the toll plaza. It takes more than 15 minutes to activate. If there is a network problem it will be too late. This can become very problematic during the festive rush. That is why it is better to recharge as soon as you run out of cash.

Toll Plaza operators say those traveling in their own vehicles should check their cash at Fastag before leaving home. In February 2020, the NHAI lifted the Fastag minimum balance. But today some banks are enforcing a balance rule of Rs 100 to Rs 200. Staff selling fastags say the toll fee cut from the minimum balance has gone into the minus balance and caused some problems.
