At the FIDE World Blitz Chess Championship Women's Event, India's top player Koneru Humpy ranked fifth, while R Vaishali, who finished second after nine rounds, dropped to 14th.
Humpy finished fifth with 11.5 points in 17 rounds, tied with two others.

The loss to Polina Shuvalova (Russia) in the final round hurt Humpy's chances of a better finish. Vaishali also exited the top 10 along with Olga Girya (Russia) in the final round.
