The Center has postponed the decision to increase GST on garments. The decision was taken at the GST Council. The 5% to 12% GST hike on garments was expected to come into effect from January 1. Several States vehemently opposed the hike.
Center has decided to postpone the decision to increase the GST on textiles. Himachal Pradesh Industry Minister Bikram Singh said that the council will review this matter in its next meeting in February 2022.
