Covid-19 cases reduced by 40% in South Africa

One of the hubs of the Omicron variant has seen a nearly 40 per cent reduction in new cases of Covid-19 infection, indicating that the new variant is less severe than the Delta.

The seven-day rolling average for new infections dropped to 35. The Telegraph reported that the all - time high of 23,000 cases had dropped to 15,000 by Monday, nine days ago.
