Another vaccine will be introduced in the country in one or two days. With the growing panic over the new variant Omicron this news is reassuring. Authorities say a team of experts from the country's Central Drug Control Authority has recommended granting emergency use permits to another Covid vaccine, Novovax, from the Serum Institute of India.
In October, Prakash Kumar Singh, director of government and regulatory affairs at the Serum Institute of India (SII), applied to the Drugs Controller General of India for permission to bring Novovax to market for emergency use. The SEC has reviewed the application for the second time and granted emergency utility permission after detailed discussions.
