Internet Sensation In Another Trouble

Looks like there is no stopping for the controversies on the viral song Maikya Malaraya Poovi from Oru Adaar Love. Malayalam actress Priya Prakash Varrier has become an internet sensation with just a wink she did for this song. Now, the actress is again landed in trouble, after Hyderabad-based parties filed a petition against her.

As per the reports, two Hyderabad-based parties have reportedly filed a petition for showing objectionable scenes with the lyrics that were written in praise of Prophet Mohammed and his wife Khadeeja. In the petition, it was mentioned that the act of winking is a sin in Islam and doing it with a sacred song becomes an act of blasphemy. They even shared that the makers have deliberately done this to hurt their religious feeling and to misrepresent the image of Islam in front of the world. 

A couple of months ago, already an FIR was allegedly filed against the makers in Telangana saying that the song is a devotional song and should not be used. The Supreme Court that time, issued a stay on the criminal proceedings against Priya Prakash Varrier and ordered that no one can lodge a complaint on her.

Now that the issue of Blasphemy is raked up by alleging that Priya Varrier's wink is a sin, we have to see how the legal attacks actually turn up.
