Kamal Haasan has had an eventful week. Ulaganayagan, who was in Mumbai, met Hollywood director Christopher Nolan and also spent time with Amitabh Bachchan during an event that was aimed at promoting the importance of celluloid film in the digital era.

At the event, Kamal Haasan also met Shah Rukh Khan and was spotted having a deep conversation. It is said that the latter has bought the Hindi remake rights of Kamal Haasan's Hey Ram. As we know, SRK played the role of Amjad Ali Khan in Hey Ram, which was initially made in Tamil and Hindi languages.

Confirming the news to Mumbai Mirror, Kamal Haasan said, "Shah Rukh only got a wristwatch for acting in my film at the time because, by the end of it, I had nothing left in hand. Now, he is the brand ambassador for a watch brand. I am glad that he got the Hindi rights of Hey Ram from Bharat bhai (co-producer Bharat Shah). He should have some memory of the film as he gave his friendship and service for it."

However, it is unclear as to why SRK chose to buy the Hindi remake rights, 18 years after the release of Hey Ram. Since the film was already made in Hindi, we are not sure if there would be a remake.

Well, we will have to wait and see how SRK plans to adapt this story and when he would do so.

Hey Ram is a historical fiction-political thriller, written and produced by Kamal Haasan himself. The fictional play revolves around India's partition and the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi.
