The movie directed by Sukumar needs to collect 120 crores to become a Blockbuster. Why you ask? Let's look at the pre-release business of Rangasthalam.Movie theatrical rights are sold to 80 crores. For Nizam rights, producers got 18 crores, for Ceded rights, 12 crores and for USA & Overseas, they got 9 crores. From Andhra territories the film got prices off, Vizag- 8 crores, East Godavari- 5.4 crores, West Godavari- 5.4 crores, Nellore- 3 crores, Krishna- 4.8 crores and Guntur- 6.6 crores, respectively.
Movie theatrical rights went for 7.6 crores in Karnataka and 1.4 crores in other states. In total, producers earned 80 crores from just theatrical rights of the film.For Satellite rights they got 20 crores and for Hindi dubbing rights another 10.5 crores. Others they got 1.5 crores and digital rights are still pending to be sold as per the reports.
Well, for the film to be called a hit, it needs to recover 80 crores, first and then earn more than 80 upto 95 crores. And for a super hit tag the film needs to earn above 95 and below 119 crores. Above 120 crores, it will be called a blockbuster and anything below 50 crores will mark it as a disaster. High stakes, indeed.
