Guru Randhawa fans are up for a treat today as the singer’s perky rendition of his own song, Patola, is out from the film, Blackmail, starring Irrfan Khan and Kirti Kulhari, and we can’t stop listening to it on loop. Even without the rap by Bohemia, which was such a significant part of the original version, the song is addictive and one won’t be able to stop dancing to its beats till the very end.  Guru Randhawa is at his best in this song — with that handsome face, infectious smile and killer swag. The highlight of the song, however, are Irrfan and Kirti, whose innocent chemistry and terrific expressions, make for an entertaining watch.

Both Irrfan and Kriti make for a shy couple at the wedding mandap. Their expressions convey their innocent love for each other but the best part is reserved for the end, when Irrfan is pleasantly surprised and completely smitten, at the same time, to see his wife dance with absolute nonchalance. He is left at a loss of words when he enters the room, and stares at his wife, Kirti, sleeping with childlike innocence and admiration in his eyes.

Written, composed and crooned by Guru Randhawa, the song is a recreation of his chartbuster, Patola. This is the second time that Irrfan has teamed up with the Punjabi singer for a song. Last year the two collaborated for the hit number Suit Suit, which was again a recreation of his own song by the same name. Speaking of recreating his popular track, Patol, Guru told Hindustan Times, “Bhushan sir (Bhushan Kumar) gave me a break with this song in 2015. The song became popular worldwide. People loved the song a lot. It’s a simple song which compliments a girl on her beauty and looks. Interestingly, it has now been turned into a celebration song in a wedding.” Well, we certainly loved the track. What about you?
