Reminiscing the same incident, Sridevi, in an earlier interview with Stardust magazine revealed what exactly happened and why. Sridevi was a popular actress down South and it wasn’t possible for the stars to live an ordinary life. When the actress was busy juggling with her career in Bollywood and down South, she would often spend her time in Madras watching TV at home. The actress recalled how she would just sit at home in Madras and watch TV because she never went to theatres. There was just one time when she went to watch a Kamal Haasan movie. “I had missed the trial show, so I went to see it in the theatre wearing a burkha,” she had said.  Ask her if the move didn’t bother her and she said, “I was scared. What if people still came to know I was Sridevi…?

Sridevi never took her own decision as an actress. It was always her mother who was in charge of everything. Even Sridevi believed that her parents had all the right to make decisions on her behalf because they knew more than her. But she was equally determined to make decisions for her kids when she becomes a mother.
