Shahid Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor are shooting for their film, Batti Gul Meter Chalu in Uttarakhand. And surprisingly they haven’t been put up in a 5-star hotel there. According to a report in Mid Day, both of them have opted for a homestay. So they are staying in a hut there. Not just Shraddha and Shahid, even the director, Shree Narayan Singh and the rest of the crew is staying in 10 houses that the producers chose ahead of the shoot. But what’s the reason behind this, you ask? Well, a unit member revealed to the tabloid that the makers had initially planned to have the cast and the crew in a 5-star property, but the closest one was in Dehradun, which would mean a one way three-hour drive from the hotel to the sets in Tehri (a city in Uttarakhand where the movie is being shot). That’s when Shahid thought of opting for homestay and Shraddha instantly agreed.

“Shahid opined that staying close to the locals would help Shraddha and him pick up their dialect, which would lend an air of authenticity to their characters,” the unit member was further quoted by the tabloid.

We recently told you that Shahid will take a break from Batti Gul Meter Chalu as he will travel to Beas (a city in Amritsar) along with wife, Mira Rajput, daughter Misha and his in-laws on the day of his 36th birthday (February 25). They will attend a satsang there, we are told. Unlike last year, Shahid wants to keep his birthday a low key affair this time.
