GST officials denies reports of raids at Tamil Hero Vishal's production house.Actor and President of Tamil Film Producers' Council (TFPC), Vishal raised his voice in support of "Mersal", which is mired in a controversy for allegedly rebuking GST system, reports says that a team of the GST Intelligence Agency conducted raids at his office in Chennai. But the GST Intelligence denied conducting any such raids on actor's office and the rumors making rounds are factually untrue.
It was assumed that the Income Tax (IT) officers raided Vishal's office but it came to light later that it was a team of GST Agency. But none of them turned out to be true.
This raid reports erupted after the 'Mersal vs Modi' controversy in Tamil Nadu which is at a highly volatile stage. The film has reportedly mocked GST system, and it predictably didn't go well the Tamil Nadu unit of BJP. Amidst the mounting political pressure, Tamil film fraternity, led by Vishal, came in support of the film. Vishal even targeted Tamil Nadu BJP leader H Raja for saying that he had watched "Mersal", online, a piracy version.
This raid is being described by observers as the iron fist of BJP high command to intimidate whoever that takes the side of "Mersal", but as the latest reports deny any GST raids leaving everyone in confusion.
