Yami Gautam's Powerful Portrayal in 'Haq' teaser?

The makers of HAQ, inspired by the landmark Shah Bano case, dropped its teaser on social media.The courtroom thriller stars Yami Gautam as Bano and Emraan Hashmi as her husband, marking their first on-screen collaboration. Sharing the teaser, Yami wrote: “A fight for dignity, justice and for what’s rightfully hers - #HAQ. Inspired by the landmark Supreme Court Judgement of Mohd. Ahmed Khan vs Shah Bano Begum. Releasing in cinemas on 7th November!”

The teaser moves from a love story to a marital dispute that escalates into a powerful legal battle, raising questions on faith, identity, and the Uniform Civil Code. Yami plays a fearless Muslim woman who approaches court to claim her haq under Section 125.Directed by Suparn S Varma, the film also features Sheeba Chaddha, Danish Hussain, and Aseem Hattangady. Produced by Junglee Pictures with Insomnia Films and Baweja Studios, HAQ—inspired by Jigna Vora’s Bano: Bharat ki Beti—hits theatres on November 7, 2025.
