Kangana will only play an actor, Manikarnika director Krish said

Telugu film producer Krish (Radha Krishna Jagarlamudi) is no stranger to epic costume dramas. His last film was Gautamiputra Satakarni, a luxury second-class textile drama in Telugu. His next film, Manikarnika, is made in Hindi. Speaking of his shooting plans, Krish said, “We are starting shooting in the first week of July, and we hope to finish it all year.” The film will be shot in actual locations where the Rani of Jhansi lived and war has happened.

Says Krish, “We are starting the first schedule in Madhya Pradesh. After the shooting, another time is going to Rajasthan. A part of the film will also be shot at the Ramoji Rao film city. Some of the scenes have to be shot on sets, and they are now being built.”

Kangana also reportedly co-directed with Manikarni.The actress argues that she is her last film as an actor, as she will turn director with her next projects. But Krish shoots down rumours of Kangana co-directing the present project. “She will only be playing the lead role of the movie. That’s it.” About the film language, Krrish saying, “We are primarily making this film in Hindi. It will then be dubbed in Telugu and Tamil.” Krish said he did not know the other project on the Jhansi queen who built Swati Bheej, till he read about it. “I had to Google to get to know about the news. Not that it makes any difference,” he expressed.
