I never usually make any birthday plans,” says Sonakshi Sinha, as she turns a year older today. However, the actor has made an exception for her birthday this year. “I’ve got my friends on a short and fun trip to Goa. They have always stuck by me through thick and thin. I want the day to be very chilled out without much of a fuss. And that’s how I like it,” says the actor, who doesn’t have a celebratory ritual otherwise.
Talking about her fondest birthday memories, the actor says she “hates making grand plans for her birthday”. “Every year, I’ve just had simple get-togethers or dinner plans with my family and closest friends,” she says. And personally, it was eye-opening. I learnt a lot about self-love and not to be so hard on myself. It’s important to find time for the things that enrich your soul whether it’s traveling, painting or exercising. I’m learning how to put myself first. It’s been a good lesson,” says the Force 2 (2016) actor
This year, Sonakshi will be paired with Sidharth Malhotra for the first time in the adaptation of the classic hit, Ittefaq (1969). “I am collaborating with Sidharth for the first time. Earlier, I only knew him socially. However, working with him is a completely new experience,” says Sonakshi. The actor adds that she admires Sidharth’s dedication to his work. “He likes to discuss every scene with the director, take everyone’s inputs and bring in his contribution. Also, he is dedicated to fitness, and that’s always motivating,” she says.
