Alia Bhatt's Gangubai Kathiawadi to Premiere at the International Berlin Festival

Alia Bhatt's Gangubai Kathiawadi will premiere at 72nd Berlin International Film Festival to be held from 10 to 20 February 2022. The movie will hit the theatres on 18th February, 2022 in India.

This year the films shot during the lockdown are selected to screen at the International Film Festival. One of them is Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Gangubai Kathiawadi' which has been chosen to screen as a Berlin special. Berlin specials are screened to showcase exemplary cinema.

Gangubai Kathiawadi is a biographical crime drama film directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and produced by Jayantilal Gada and Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The film stars Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgn and Emraan Hashmi in an extended cameo appearance.

The narrative walks through the life of young Ganga who in no time marks her own territory and becomes Gangubai – a madame in the red light area of Kamathipura.
