Tabassum Fatima Hashmi, better known by her stage name Tabu, is an Indian actress who primarily works in Hindi films, alongside Telugu and Tamil language films.


Tabu has made her mark in the Indian film industry by erasing all the standard boundaries of four decades of cinematic journey and breaking the rules and commitments imposed by time and society. Born and raised in an educated family in Hyderabad. As Tabu's cousin Shabana Azmi became known as a good actress in Hindi movies, her older sister Farah Hashmi also became interested in movies. However, Tabu had no plans to enter the world of cinema.


But, accidentally doing a small role in the Hindi film 'Bazaar' (1982) and later another opportunity in Devanand's film 'Hum Naujawan' (1984), Tabu stepped down. "I never wanted to be an actress. It just happened by accident. Maybe that's why I don't have a role model or a reference point," Tabu said in an interview with the Telegraph.


Tabu made her acting debut in Bonnie Kapoor's 'Prem' (1995). But, the first movie to appear as a heroine on the screen .. 'Coolie no. 1 '(1991). In this she was made the heroine next to Venkatesh. She made her debut with the Hindi film 'Vijaypath' (1994) starring Ajay Devgn as the hero. The film also won the Filmfare Award for Best Debut Actress.


Tabu has made a name for herself in Hindi cinema with films like  'Hakikat' (1995), 'Sajan Chale Sasural' (1996), 'Jeet' (1996), 'Border' (1997), 'Chachi 420' (1998), 'Biwi no.1' (1999) and' Hum Saath-Saath Hain '(1999).


Tabu is no doubt the charm of the brilliant actress. The variety of roles she chooses has made her a unique actress on the Indian cinema screen. She has made films in Indian languages ??such as Telugu, Tamil and Marathi, and on the other hand, she has acted in international films such as 'The Name' (2006) and 'Life of Pi' (2012).

November 4 is Tabu's birthday. She is over fifty years old. Receiving two national awards, half a dozen Filmfare Awards and a Padma Shri award, Tabu's career is still in full swing. No matter how high the level of acting, Tabu is just as high and happy in her personal life.
