Box office : 'Mahanayakudu' weekend collections

NTR Mahandayakudu, the second part of director Krish's NT Rama Rao's biopic duology is turning out to be a flop at the box office. The film has not worked out well with the audience of the Telugu-speaking states.

It is rumoured that the film has not even crossed Rs 2 crore-mark on the opening day. The Day 2 collection of the film was even more disappointing and trade analysts have called the films a 'box office disaster'.

The box office collection of NTR Mahanayakudu is lower than that of Ram Gopal's embarrassing venture Officer, according to industry buzz.The film, on the other hand, has received average reviews. The average first part and uninteresting promos could have contributed to the failure of NTR Mahanayakudu.

Mahanayakudu, starring Balakrishna as his father NT Rama Rao, is about the political journey of the iconic leader. The first part showed the rise of NTR as a hero and the second part is all about his tenure as CM of undivided Andhra Pradesh.

Vidya Balan, Nandamuri Kalyan Ram, Sumanth, and Rana Daggubati are also part of NTR Mahanayakudu.
