Lakshmi Story:

Lakshmi (Ditya) is a school student who is passionate about dance. She dances on roads and bus. Her mother Nandini (Aishwarya Rajesh) hates dance.  Lakshmi wants to participate in a national-level competition against will of her mother. Prabhu Deva, a coffee shop owner and a dance guru helps her enroll in the competition. Will she win the competition? How does her mother react?

Lakshmi Movie Review:

Lakshmi is dance based movie like Hollywood’s Step Up series or Bollywood’s Any Body Can Dance. The film offers some mind-blowing dance sequences. The film is spectacular in that aspect. Of course, dance god Prabhu Deva takes the lead. The young girl too did a fabulous job. Her flexibility is terrific. The film has shades of Jackie Chan’s Karate Kid.

Lakshmi is well woven with emotional drama to keep audience engaged. Flashback episode is dull except a Prabhu Deva’s scintillating dance performance. Lakshmi will be a delightful watch for those who love dance.

Performances:

Ditya leaves everyone in awe with her amazing dance skills. She grabs the attention with her immense talent and oodles of energy. Prabhu Deva as usual leaves his stamp with his kick-ass dance movements. Kovai Sarala gives comic relief as the school principal and Karunakaran tickles as coffee shop employee. Salman Yusuff Khan’s dance also adds pepl.

Technically:

Nirav Shah’s cinematography needs special mention as it made the film visually alluring. Dance sequences are well captured giving a racing edge-of-the-seat thrills. Music by Sam CS is adds to the pace feel.

Bottom-line: Lakshmi – Delightful dance drama
