Will resign if proved wrong on adulteration by dairies: TN Minister

Chennai, May 27: Sticking to his charge that private dairies in Tamil Nadu mix chemicals in milk, Tamil Nadu Dairy Development Minister K.T. Rajenthra Balaji on Saturday said he will resign, or even hang himself, if proved wrong.

Balaji had accused private dairies of mixing chemicals in milk produce to extend the product's shelf life.

Samples drawn from milk produced at private dairies have been sent to a central government laboratory for testing, the Minister told reporters at Sivakasi.

However, officials of private dairies, including Hatsun Agro Product, denied Balaji's accusation.

Meanwhile, DMK Working President M.K. Stalin wondered why the government was not taking action against private dairies selling chemically treated milk.
