Rahul to be Congress president

Rahul Gandhi is ready to take over the Congress party president. Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has said that the party should choose a president rather than a unanimous election. He also said that Sonia Gandhi should decide whether he will continue as party president or that he will be the next president. Amarinder suggested that priority should be given to regional leaders in the party so that each leader should be given priority before assembly elections and said Sonia Gandhi would like to see whether or not to remain in office until 2019.The names of the leaders would be good in advance and that they could achieve a good result in Punjab,he added

If she wanted to give a chance to Rahul, now she is ready to go. He said he has been with him for the past two years and he knows his ability. Asked if any other than the Gandhi family would be headed by the party, the Congress has been leading the Gandhi-Nehru family for years now. All of them are from the Motilal Nehru and Sonia except the two in the middle. He asked, "There is no one except Rahul."
