Delhi: Lok Sabha elections to be held in seven phases said Sunil Arora the Chief Election Commissionor of India . The 1st phase polling to be held on 11th April, 2nd phase on 18th April, 3rd phase on 23rd April, 4th phase polling to be held on 29th April, 5th phase polling on 6th May, 6th phase polling on 12th May, 7th phase 12th May. Counting of all phases on 23rd May.


Model Code of Conduct comes into force now said Election Commission of India. he number of voters in the Lok Sabha elections will be around 900 million, Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Arora announced on Sunday, calling the upcoming polls the "largest festival of democracy".


There would be approximately 10 lakh polling stations this year, up from 9 lakh in the last general election in 2014. Of the total electorate, 15 million will be in the age group of 18 to 19 years.
"The Election Commission has attempted a very comprehensive preparation for the conduct of the election," he said.


  Total Lok Sabha voters likely to be around 900 mn and VVPATs with EVMs to be used at all polling booths they said.
