Opposition to discuss common agenda on Feb 26

New Delhi, Feb 21 (IANS) Opposition leaders will meet here on February 26 to deliberate on a common minimum programme (CMP) to be presented by Congress President Rahul Gandhi, a TDP leader said on Thursday.

This follows a meeting of opposition leaders here on February 13 where they decided to have a pre-poll pact and a common agenda to defeat the BJP in the Lok Sabha elections. 

A senior TDP leader requesting anonymity told IANS that Gandhi, entrusted with the task of preparing the CMP, will present a copy to the opposition leaders. 

"The CMP will be finalised after taking suggestions from leaders of all parties," the TDP source said. 

On February 13, West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress leader Mamata Banerjee, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader N. Chandrababu Naidu, Delhi Chief Minister and AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal, former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and National Conference leader Farooq Abdullah and Rahul Gandhi met at Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar's residence in New Delhi.
