Modi unveils book by Sumitra Mahajan

New Delhi, April 11:  Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday unveiled a book by Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan here.

"Matoshree" -- a play based on the life of Devi Ahilyabai Holkar, the Queen of Malwa Region from 1767 to 1795 -- was written by Mahajan decades ago.

"I have written the book but I am not a writer," Mahajan said while welcoming the Prime Minister and other Members of Parliament at a function here.

"I wrote the play and it was staged in Indore and other places but I never wanted it to be published as it could have had discrepancies," she said, adding that her friends insisted on its publication and a historian friend from Indore checked it and got it printed.
