'Now everyone understands who's the amateur here': Khabib Nurmagomedov's manager slams Conor McGregor

Khabib Nurmagomedov's manager has broken his silence over the fracas that overshadowed UFC 229 in Las Vegas on Saturday night.

Conor McGregor was dethroned in the fourth round before chaos descended at the T-Mobile Arena as the Russian jumped into the crowd to fight the Irishman's team-mate, Dillon Danis.

McGregor was punched in the head by members of Khabib's team, but the Russian's manager, Ali Abdelaziz, has come out in support of his man.

Abdelaziz said: 'I want to congratulate my brother @khabib_nurmagomedov the undisputed, undefeated pound-for-pound King.

'There was never 2 Kings from the beginning, only one King.'

He then proceeded to fire insults at McGregor.

He continued: 'This is not the way we want to celebrate such a dominant performance but when you talk about people's country, family and religion and intentionally try to kill someone like he said and the cornermen running their mouths after, this is the fight game & s**t happens.

'The fans got an amazing fight and a great show. I won't apologize to the Nevada athletic commission, the Governor of Nevada and I want to thank Las Vegas police department and security for doing such an unbelievable job.

'Now everyone understands who's the amateur here.'

McGregor was accused by Nurmagomedov of insults relating to his family and religion in the pre-fight build-up.

He was forced to tap out after Nurmagomedov administered a chokehold on the Irishman.

McGregor is keen for a rematch, while UFC supremo Dana White considers a suitable punishment for Nurmagomedov.

The Russian did not receive his belt in the octagon after the fight and did not receive his winnings either.

He could even be stripped of his lightweight title for the scenes which have dominated coverage of the aftermath of the Las Vegas showdown.
