Lok Sabha grants more time to panel on land acquisition

New Delhi, April: The Lok Sabha on Friday granted another extension to the Joint Committee on the "Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement (Second Amendment) Bill, 2015" to submit its report.

Ganesh Singh of the BJP, who heads the Joint Committee on Rights to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, sought time till the last day of the first week of the Winter Session to submit the report.

Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan extended the time after the house agreed. Singh was appointed its chairperson in July.
