Italian Parliament deputy speaker meets LGBT delegation
Rome : Deputy lower house of parliament speaker Maria Rosaria Carfagna was on Wednesday due to meet members of Italy's Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Intersex community in Rome, the parliament stated.
Carfagna's meeting with the LGBT delegation will take place at the parliament building ahead of the annual International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia on Thursday, the statement said.
May 17 was chosen to commemorate the decision to remove homosexuality from the International Classification of Diseases of the World Health Organization (WHO) in 1990.
