Tehran, Dec 11 : An earthquake measuring 6 on the Richter Scale shook the border region of Iran and Iraq on Monday evening, the Iran Seismological Centre said.
The epicentre of the quake, which was felt in Iran's Kermanshah province, was at a depth of 10 km, 35.066 degrees north latitude and 45.795 degrees east longitude in the Iraqi border city of Halubcah, Xinhua news agency reported.
On November 12, a devastating 7.3 magnitude earthquake struck Iran in a region bordering Iraq, killing over 500 people and injuring nearly 10,000. It caused massive destruction and left tens of thousands homeless.
