Three killed in UP accident
Lucknow, Sep 2 : Three persons were killed and three injured when a speeding truck smashed into a tempo in Shahjahanpur on Saturday.
The accident took place on Kant road when passengers were returning from the Deva Sharif shrine in Barabanki after celebrating Eid-al-Adha.
The deceased -- identified as Nanha (52), Naazreen (53) and Sanaya (8) -- belonged to Rawatpur village. Their bodies have been sent for post-mortem and the families informed.
Three passengers, who were critically injured, were rushed to a nearby medical facility but they have been referred to hospitals in Bareilly due to their critical condition.
Police said the truck driver has been arrested.
