Nitin Gadkari Says Qualities Matter More Than Caste

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, speaking at an event in Nagpur, said he does not believe caste, religion, or language makes anyone greater, but a person’s qualities do.

At the golden jubilee of the Halba Samaj Mahasangh, Gadkari joked that the “biggest favour God did” for him was not giving Brahmins reservation, adding that this pushed him to build his own path.

His comments come at a time when Maharashtra is witnessing fresh protests over reservation and quota demands.

Gadkari also urged educated and financially strong people to support those in need within their communities. He stressed that entrepreneurship can help uplift society, encouraging youth to become job creators rather than job seekers.

He has made similar points in the past, saying education and self-reliance are the keys to prosperity.
