Devendra Fadnavis Shares a Heartfelt Story Ahead of PM Modi's 75th Birthday

As Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 75th birthday approaches on September 17, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis shared a touching memory that shaped how he sees the leader.

In a video posted on social media under the hashtag **#MyModiStory**, Fadnavis looked back at his first meeting with PM Modi years ago during a training event in Nagpur. At the time, Fadnavis was a young Mayor and head of the BJP’s youth wing in Nagpur. He was in charge of organizing an **‘Abhyaas Varg’** — a training camp for party workers held at Reshimbagh, a key center for RSS and BJP activities.

“We had made proper arrangements and set up rest houses for all senior leaders,” Fadnavis recalled. But what happened next surprised him.

“When Modi ji arrived, he first went to pay respects at Dr. Hedgewar’s memorial,” he said. “When I asked where he would like to stay, I expected him to pick a guest house like the others. But he said he wanted to stay in a small room meant for Sangh workers.”

Fadnavis said this simple choice left a lasting impression on him. It showed Modi’s **humility**, dedication to tradition, and focus on service rather than comfort.

Throughout the event, Modi also kept a close eye on the arrangements and made sure all participants were well cared for. “He noticed every small detail,” Fadnavis said. “That day, I saw a leader who valued simplicity and service over status. That memory has stayed with me ever since.”

This story comes as the BJP prepares to celebrate PM Modi’s birthday with **‘Seva Pakhwara’**, a two-week campaign focused on social service and outreach programs.

Born on September 17, 1950, in Vadnagar, Gujarat, Modi began his journey of public service at 17. He joined the BJP in 1985, became Chief Minister of Gujarat in 2001, and has served as India’s Prime Minister since 2014. He is now in his third term.
