The Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) will mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 75th birthday with a nationwide series of 75 marathons under the banner NaMo Yuva Run. The events will promote two key themes: De-Addiction and Fit India.
One of the major marathons will take place in Jamnagar on September 21, starting at 5:00 a.m. from the Lal Bungalow Circle. The route will cover several city landmarks including Gurudwara Chowkdi, Dandiya Hanuman, Walkeshwari, Sharu Section Road, Saat Rasta, and return to Lal Bungalow.
The initiative is part of Seva Saptah, an annual BJP campaign to celebrate the Prime Minister’s birthday on September 17. This year, it has been extended into a larger Sewa Pakhwada, running from September 17 to October 2, covering the birth anniversaries of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri. The campaign will also feature blood donation camps, health check-ups, cleanliness drives, and awareness programs.
Jamnagar BJP leader Bina Ben Kothari said the event is both a tribute to PM Modi and a message to the youth: “It’s about fitness, health, and a drug-free India.”
Each marathon is expected to attract more than 10,000 participants. Along with Jamnagar, key cities such as Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara, Rajkot, Bhavnagar, Gandhinagar, Valsad, Anand, and Junagadh will also host flagship runs.
Former Indian cricketer Parthiv Patel has been named brand ambassador for Gujarat’s leg of the run. In Jamnagar, Under-19 cricket captain Jay Rawalia and Commonwealth Games gold medalist Jill Makwana will serve as city ambassadors.
Rawalia said he was honored to be part of the cause: “Through this marathon, we hope to inspire young people to stay fit and say no to addiction. Let’s run for a healthier India.”
All registered runners will get official marathon T-shirts, and the BJYM has invited youth groups, social organizations, and even armed forces personnel to join.
Born on September 17, 1950, in Vadnagar, Gujarat, PM Modi is the third of six children of Damodardas and Hiraba Modi. Nationwide activities under Sewa Pakhwada will continue until October 2.
