Prime Minister Narendra Modi will begin a three-day visit on September 13, covering Mizoram, Manipur, Assam, West Bengal, and Bihar. His schedule includes launching large development projects, celebrating the birth centenary of music legend Bhupen Hazarika, and attending the Combined Commanders’ Conference.
The tour starts in Aizawl, Mizoram, where the PM will inaugurate and lay foundation stones for projects worth over ?9,000 crore. A highlight is the new Bairabi-Sairang Rail Line, costing over ?8,000 crore, which will connect Mizoram’s capital to the Indian Railways network for the first time. He will also flag off three new express trains linking Aizawl with Delhi, Guwahati, and Kolkata. New road projects, including the Aizawl Bypass, will also be launched.
In Manipur, the Prime Minister will lay foundation stones for projects worth over ?7,300 crore in Churachandpur and inaugurate projects worth ?1,200 crore in Imphal.
From there, he will head to Assam for a two-day visit. On September 13 evening, he will attend a tribute event in Guwahati for Bhupen Hazarika’s 100th birth anniversary. The event will feature a special musical performance by 1,200 artists, a commemorative ?100 coin, and the release of Hazarika’s biography. The next day, Modi will launch healthcare projects, including a new medical college in Darrang, and inaugurate a ?5,000-crore bamboo-based ethanol plant at Numaligarh refinery. He will also address a public rally.
On September 15, the Prime Minister will open the 16th Combined Commanders’ Conference in Kolkata. Later that day, he will travel to Bihar to inaugurate the new Purnea airport terminal and launch development projects worth around ?36,000 crore. He will also establish the National Makhana Board to support local farmers.
Through this tour, PM Modi will be focusing on improving rail, road, energy, and healthcare infrastructure while also paying tribute to cultural icons and strengthening national institutions.
