CEC- Elections will be held as per Schedule
The Central Election Commission (CEC) has given clarity on the upcoming elections in Uttar Pradesh. The Election Commission clarified that the elections will be held as per the schedule. The decision was taken by the EC after a two-day review of the situation in the state.
All parties have demanded that the elections not be postponed. However, the Election Commission came up with the decision after conducting a review in the wake of an Ahmedabad court order directing the EC to postpone the polls in the wake of rising Omicron cases.
