The encounter took place in Kishtapur forest area of ??Sukma-Bijapur district near small Chinnapuram in Charla zone.
The SP said the security forces were conducting a coup in the Kishtapur forest area when the Maoists opened fire at once. Vigilant security forces said six Maoists were killed in the exchange of fire. He said the operation was still going on and police were patrolling the area for the Naxals. The IEDs are being set up targeting the police as the Maoists are gradually losing support to the Maoists in the Abujamad and Bastar areas.
