High Alert in Pathankot with a Suspicious bag

Chandigarh, May 29: Security agencies have been on Monday in Punjab Police Pathankot district after possession of a suspicious bag in Central Uniform. A search operation was launched early on Monday by the Punjab Police and other security agencies in the district, especially near the Indian Air Force base at Pathankot. The suspended bag was found late Sunday night. Recovery is being investigated, police officials said. 
Security agencies remained on alert in border districts of Gurdaspur and Pathankot following the terrorist attack on the IAF base at Pathankot in January 2016 and the terror attack in Dinanagar town in Gurdaspur district in July 2015. The two districts shared an international border with Pakistan. Jammu and Kashmir are in close proximity to two districts.
