Lahore, May 29: A school building in Lahore, Pakistan, has been called by nine teachers of Class X from the third floor. The death toll has been reported by the media on Monday. The incident took place at City School Public School School in Shadara area of Lahore. Allah Bakhsh Malik, Secretary Education (Schools) of Punjab province, told Dawn news on Sunday that the two senior teachers -- Rehana Kausar and Bushra Tufail -- first inflicted corporal punishment on the 14-year-old girl, Fajjar Noor, and then took her to the third floor of the school building from where they pushed her down.
Both Kausar and Tufail have been booked for attempt to murder. "The incident took place on May 23 but the school administration and some other officials kept it secret from the education department. We came to know about (the incident) on Saturday evening," Malik added. Punjab province Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has immediately placed District Education Authority Chief Executive Officer Ehsan Malik and school Headmistress Naghmana Irshad under suspension for hiding the incident, Dawn news reported. Meanwhile, doctors have said that Noor is out of danger but has multiple fractures, including of her spine. Her parents have expressed shock as to how teachers could turn so inhuman. Malik's government will not bring teachers to judge, but it also covers the full costs of the girl's treatment.
