Kolkata, Jan 19: App-based cab provider Uber on Friday said it has entered into a partnership with the Eastern Railway to make it easier for riders to get a ride at West Bengal's Howrah station, one of the busiest rail terminals in the country.

The company will set up booking zones at the station, where even those who do not have the app will be able to book a ride.

"We have already executed several partnerships with public transit agencies in India, very recently at the Kolkata Airport. We expect the partnership to make travelling to and from the Howrah station hassle-free for both our riders and driver partners," Uber Kolkata's general manager Arpit Mundra said.

There will be a dedicated pick-up zone outside the railway terminal and on-ground assistance to guide travellers to their car for pick up.
