Andhra seeks Gates' help in agriculture, health

Visakhapatnam, Nov 17 : Andhra Pradesh has sought the cooperation of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation in areas of agriculture, nutrition, health and sanitation.

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu made the request during a meeting with Microsoft founder and Co-chair of Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Bill Gates.

During the meeting, Naidu briefed him about the various initiatives taken by his government to use technology to improve the citizen services and for agriculture transformation.

During his brief visit to the coastal city, Gates addressed the valedictory of the three-day AP AgTech Summit 2017.

Earlier, Naidu personally received Gates at the airport. At the AP AgTech Summit, Gates went around some stalls and enquired about the various innovative products and services on display.

The makeshift venue was full to its capacity as large number of farmers, officials, techies, and students turned up to catch a glimpse of AGates and hear him.
